Introducing Kyler Stephen Tenney!!!

                                 He's here!!! He's here!!! HE'S HERE!!!
We are so happy that we were able to welcome our second son Kyler this past Friday. He is totally healthy and perfect and wonderful. We love him so much already!!

We had quite the roller coaster of emotions before getting him here. I was scheduled to be induced on Wednesday morning. I got a call early that morning saying that they didn't have room at the hospital that morning but they would likely be able to get us in around 11. So I called back at 11 and they said they didn't have room but that they might later. Then I got a call later saying they didn't have room to do it at all that day. And they rescheduled for Thursday. Totally bummed! It was so hard getting my hopes up and then having them dashed.
So then it was Thursday. I called in the morning, they once again didn't have room. Then they called me back about 11 or so and said they wouldn't have room the whole day and they had to reschedule for Monday. I understand women in labor take priority over a scheduled induction, but holy cow was that hard to take! I'd been told that I would be able to hold my son on Wednesday and now we'd have to wait till Monday.

We took Dainen for a drive to get our minds off of it a bit. When we got back I got a call at 2pm asking if we could come in at 3pm to be induced. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

We took Dainen to my parent's house and headed to the hospital. I got hooked up to pitocin and we waited and waited for it to kick in. I was having painful contractions but they weren't consistant enough or doing enough to call active labor. Quinn and I played cards, watched tv and Quinn read me a book. I had to keep breathing through contractions so reading and cards were slow-going. It went on like this for NINE HOURS!
The Dr came and checked me and things were barely progressing. So he gave me the option of breaking my water or going home and trying again on Monday. After debating and praying a while we decided to go for it. That was about 12:30am. From there the contractions got a lot worse, I got an epidural and Kyler was born at 2:15am! Just 1 hour 45 min from when active labor began.

Kyler is perfect head to toe. I can't get over how tiny he is! I'm so used to Dainen and Kyler is considerably smaller. I had a while with Kyler right after he was born. They put him on my chest and he just looked and looked (after crying, of course). It was so precious! I love him so much already!
He has been such a joy these past few days, he pretty much just eats (a LOT) and sleeps at this point. However, there are those times where he's awake and he looks around and checks out his world, I love it when he does that =). I don't mind when he's sleeping or eating either, I have no problem snuggling my sweet newborn =).
Kyler had a bunch of visitors the first day, everyone wanted to meet his wonderful self.

We're officially a family of four!

Quinn's parent's came for a visit too

Chillin with my older son =)

He's so perfect! You can see his "monkey toes" peeking out at the bottom. He has seriously long feet and toes.

Lael, my friend from BYU-H, she left the next day. Glad she got to meet him before leaving!
I can't get over how tiny and adorable he is. I've spent hours and hours staring at him =)

Quinn's brother Clay and his wife Dulce came to visit with their four kids. The kids were having a blast with Dainen and Clay was keeping an eye on them, so here is a pic of Dulce =)

My brother Darth, his wife Alecia and their two girls came too

Dainen enjoyed some daddy time in between playing with cousins

Kyler wearing his first real outfit! His great-grandma picked it out for him and it's just adorable!! It looks huge on him, but the length works great, he's just not very chunky yet.

Getting ready to head home!!!

Dainen is being such a great big brother thus far! He likes to look at Kyler's little self. He is helpful with him too, he tried to put Kyler's hat back on him the other day and he gently pushes him in his swing. Mostly Dainen likes to give Kyler hugs and kisses and it's the sweetest thing!

Dainen gently pushing Kyler in the swing =)

I put Kyler on Dainen's bed so I could get some things out of his dresser. Dainen comes in the room says "nigh-night with baby Kyler" and comes and lays down next to him! I love that he loves him already!!!

Dainen wanted to hold Kyler, but only for about a second, had to take a picture fast!

Recovery this time has been mostly ok, since the delivery went so much better. In the 6 days we've been “home” Kyler has had a doctor appointment, and two jaundice checks (3 different days) and I've ended up in the emergency room for 5 hours with an incredibly painful kidney infection. Hopefully the next few days I'll be able to actually rest!

Sleepy baby smiles make it all better, right?

Here's a fun fact: our two sons were born on the same day just 2 years apart! Actually they were born 32 min short of exactly 2 years apart. How's that for weird? (No, we did not plan it that way, how could you ever plan it that way!?)
