First Time For Everything

Our sweet happy little boy has had several "firsts" this week, three to be exact. One of my favorite things about motherhood is watching him discover new things, it's been a good week. The first new thing this week was CHRISTMAS!!!! I love Christmas! Dainen was super cute and enjoyed opening presents, up until he drooled the paper into mushiness and we had to take it away, then he got ticked. He enjoyed his presents though, he got a bunch of new toys and some clothes too. Quinn and I also enjoyed our Christmas morning at home, we exchanged presents and just generally enjoyed the time together. Then we went to my parent's for more presents and games with family. We had a wonderful (though chaotic) Christmas.

Christmas morning at home. We're all wearing our new Christmas jammies as is tradition.

The second "first"  this week was Dainen's half birthday. I find it kinda funny that it took his whole life to get to his half birthday. And it freaks me out to think that in just double this time he'll be one! So I try not to think about that. We didn't do anything special for his half birthday, but it was still a first so worth mentioning.

Happy six month old!

The last "first" this week was solid food! I had mixed feelings about this (probably because nursing only got easy a month and a half ago) but when we tried feeding him some breastmilk on a spoon (to see if he was ready for spoons) this is the reaction we got:

He eagerly gulped it down and barely spilled a drop so we figured he was ready moved on to carrots:

As you can see he had no problems. Ok so he made some funny faces at first, but then he figured out what to do.

Oh and one more first that happened a few weeks back was rolling over, he goes from front to back very quickly now. He never did like tummy time so he's grateful to be able to get himself out of it.

It's crazy how fast he's learning and growing, it's constant! He's such a sweet baby, sure glad he's ours =).

Going Private

I'm going to be making this blog private in the next couple days so leave a comment with your email address if you'd like an invite. I'd LOVE to have people I know  reading my blog! It just disturbs me that by doing a google search on my baby the blog comes up... so it's going private.

Christmas Tree!

I love Christmas! I love the Christmas story and the reason for the season. I love the lights and the trees and decorations, the treats, the presents and most of all how everyone and everything just seems that much nicer. Quinn and I are working on getting Dainen to love Christmas too, it's not hard cause he's already loving it!

Dainen checking out our tree

He scooted 180 degrees around to grab presents and start unwrapping them!

Yummy ribbon

Could be my favorite picture ever! This is SO him!

Dainen meeting Santa for the first time =)

It's barely December and we're loving every minute of the Christmas season! Over the years Dainen will learn more about the meaning of Christmas, but for now he's happy just to explore new things =). MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Life lately

Yes, I'm not the greatest at updating my blog... however, I have a very good reason, wanna see it?

Yup, that's right, that innocent little face is adorable and very time consuming.

Besides diapers and spit-up a few things have happened recently.

First there was Halloween:

Quinn dressed up in his space armor he made out of foam

Dainen was the cutest little milk-eating lion ever

And I threw on my old hula skirt for zumba and didn't take a picture.

Then, my Brother Bjorn, his wife Coleen and their baby Gabriel came for a visit!

We enjoyed playing with and meeting each other's sons, they are just 2 months apart. Dainen is older.

We had a fun day at the aquarium!

We also went to the museum of flight

All 4 of my parent's grandkids got to play

My parents and all their kids, kids in law and grandkids besides Quinn who unfortunatly had to work.

The boys played together =)

It was a very fun visit!
For Thanksgiving we went to Quinn's parent's house and hung out with his mom, brother and sister, it was a great day!
Life has been good lately, we also got the Christmas tree up! (see the next post).
