Brotherly Love

(This is the second of two posts today, see below for the other one)

Our boys are so different! It's really fun seeing their personalities.

Kyler is just chill. He's happy and he takes everyhting in and he's just chill. He is quick to smile and slow to laugh. He loves cuddles and attention and chewing on things. He enjoys watching Dainen run around too. He's wiggly and he knows how to roll over now but he doesn't choose to very often. He's just a happy little baby. Actually he's over 20 lbs now at 5 months so he's not really all that little.

Dainen is very active. He's a total sweetie and he'll tackle you without hesitation. He loves hugs, if you can catch him and he's a good big brother. He is either being a total sweetheart and giving his bother toys or handing out hugs or he's running around screaming like a banshee. He doesn't really have a middle ground.

I love both my boys so much! It's so sweet to see them interact! Ok sometimes it's not so good, like the time Dainen full on jumped over Kyler. Mostly it's good though =). Dainen is good about giving Kyler toys and saying that Kyler needs milk when he's sad. He's also been known to laugh hysterically when Kyler does something funny. It's adorable.

They love spending time together, it's so great to see. I pointed out to Dainen one day that Kyler was eating his socks, Dainen grinned and did it too! Silly boys =)

My favorite brother story lately was when Dainen was watching a little show in his jammies and we had just dressed Kyler for bed too. We decided to take a picture of them cause they were so cute. We put Kyler next to Dainen, paused the show, and took a few pictures. Then we went to pick up Kyler and Dainen protested saying he wanted him to stay! So they cuddled up and finished the show together! It just doesn't get sweeter than that =). We are so blessed to have such wonderful sons!

The Past Few Months

It gets really busy around here! I've been trying to simplify (aka not take on so many projects) but that still leaves me with running a household, taking care of two kids, etc etc etc. Simplifying isn't so simple. Life is good though!

Quinn just has a couple finals left this week and then he's on Christmas vacation!!!! I cannot even fully express how much I am looking forward to having him around more. It's going to be wonderful =).

We've had a good few months. I've thought about writting in my blog multiple times, but it never seems to happen. So I shall highlight a few things that have happened.

KYLER'S BLESSING

Kyler's blessing went really well. We had a bunch of family come and it was really special. We're lucky to have such a sweet boy join our family! He looked pretty dang cute in the little outfit I made too =).

MY BIRTHDAY

My birthday was super crappy cause Kyler had a nasty virus and we ended up spending about 3 hours at the Dr's for him. The next day was worse as I spent 7 hours in the ER with him as they ran tests. However, the day before my birthday was great! We went to the zoo and had a wonderful time! Dainen loved seeing all the animals and Kyler liked looking around.

HALLOWEEN

We had a lot of fun dressing up this year. Quinn and I went as pirates, Dainen was out parrot and Kyler our treasure map. Every pirate needs a 33 lb parrot and a 20lb map right?

Kyler is too young to really care, but Dainen had a blast getting the pumpkins and dressing up and of course he loved the candy.

QUINN'S BIRTHDAY

This year I organized a little surprise party for Quinn. I had some of our family come over and surprise him when he got home from school and we had some cake, it was great. Then for his actual birthday we had a very fun, very cold day at the beach.

My Boys

I love, love,  love having two little boys.

It's insane, I rarely get a second to myself (much less any longer span of time), I frequently find peanut butter and spit up somewhere random on my clothing and I don't really sleep.

But, I love it!

Can we all just take a second to admire how chubby Kyler is getting? He's just barely six weeks old and he's such a CHUNK! I'm loving the double chins and all the rolls, cause fat babies are just awesome.

Love this sweet face!

Loving the rolls!

He likes to eat in case you couldn't tell....

Dainen is such a good brother. He's a little too enthusiastic sometimes but that's just because he loves his brother and he's two. He laughs and laughs when Kyler "hugs" him and when he gets hiccups =).

Well supervised brotherly hugs

Dainen is getting so big! He's talking more and more and even conversing some! He's loving all the playgrounds we've been going to lately.

I love making things for my kids, these ties turned out super cute! They look better cause of the adorable kids wearing them of course=). I made Kyler's shirt too, it'll be his blessing shirt if he doesn't outgrow it before then.
 I sure love my boys!

Double "ride'em cowboy"  (Please ignore the giant mess my house has become, it's just part of the having boys thing).

Introducing Kyler Stephen Tenney!!!

                                 He's here!!! He's here!!! HE'S HERE!!!
We are so happy that we were able to welcome our second son Kyler this past Friday. He is totally healthy and perfect and wonderful. We love him so much already!!

We had quite the roller coaster of emotions before getting him here. I was scheduled to be induced on Wednesday morning. I got a call early that morning saying that they didn't have room at the hospital that morning but they would likely be able to get us in around 11. So I called back at 11 and they said they didn't have room but that they might later. Then I got a call later saying they didn't have room to do it at all that day. And they rescheduled for Thursday. Totally bummed! It was so hard getting my hopes up and then having them dashed.
So then it was Thursday. I called in the morning, they once again didn't have room. Then they called me back about 11 or so and said they wouldn't have room the whole day and they had to reschedule for Monday. I understand women in labor take priority over a scheduled induction, but holy cow was that hard to take! I'd been told that I would be able to hold my son on Wednesday and now we'd have to wait till Monday.

We took Dainen for a drive to get our minds off of it a bit. When we got back I got a call at 2pm asking if we could come in at 3pm to be induced. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

We took Dainen to my parent's house and headed to the hospital. I got hooked up to pitocin and we waited and waited for it to kick in. I was having painful contractions but they weren't consistant enough or doing enough to call active labor. Quinn and I played cards, watched tv and Quinn read me a book. I had to keep breathing through contractions so reading and cards were slow-going. It went on like this for NINE HOURS!
The Dr came and checked me and things were barely progressing. So he gave me the option of breaking my water or going home and trying again on Monday. After debating and praying a while we decided to go for it. That was about 12:30am. From there the contractions got a lot worse, I got an epidural and Kyler was born at 2:15am! Just 1 hour 45 min from when active labor began.

Kyler is perfect head to toe. I can't get over how tiny he is! I'm so used to Dainen and Kyler is considerably smaller. I had a while with Kyler right after he was born. They put him on my chest and he just looked and looked (after crying, of course). It was so precious! I love him so much already!
He has been such a joy these past few days, he pretty much just eats (a LOT) and sleeps at this point. However, there are those times where he's awake and he looks around and checks out his world, I love it when he does that =). I don't mind when he's sleeping or eating either, I have no problem snuggling my sweet newborn =).
Kyler had a bunch of visitors the first day, everyone wanted to meet his wonderful self.

Dainen with his grandma checking out the new baby

We're officially a family of four!

Quinn's parent's came for a visit too
My dad enjoying his fifth grandchild

Chillin with my older son =)

He's so perfect! You can see his "monkey toes" peeking out at the bottom. He has seriously long feet and toes.

Lael, my friend from BYU-H, she left the next day. Glad she got to meet him before leaving!
I can't get over how tiny and adorable he is. I've spent hours and hours staring at him =)

Quinn's brother Clay and his wife Dulce came to visit with their four kids. The kids were having a blast with Dainen and Clay was keeping an eye on them, so here is a pic of Dulce =)

My brother Darth, his wife Alecia and their two girls came too

Dainen enjoyed some daddy time in between playing with cousins

Kyler wearing his first real outfit! His great-grandma picked it out for him and it's just adorable!! It looks huge on him, but the length works great, he's just not very chunky yet.

Getting ready to head home!!!

Dainen is being such a great big brother thus far! He likes to look at Kyler's little self. He is helpful with him too, he tried to put Kyler's hat back on him the other day and he gently pushes him in his swing. Mostly Dainen likes to give Kyler hugs and kisses and it's the sweetest thing!

Dainen gently pushing Kyler in the swing =)

I put Kyler on Dainen's bed so I could get some things out of his dresser. Dainen comes in the room says "nigh-night with baby Kyler" and comes and lays down next to him! I love that he loves him already!!!

Dainen wanted to hold Kyler, but only for about a second, had to take a picture fast!

Recovery this time has been mostly ok, since the delivery went so much better. In the 6 days we've been “home” Kyler has had a doctor appointment, and two jaundice checks (3 different days) and I've ended up in the emergency room for 5 hours with an incredibly painful kidney infection. Hopefully the next few days I'll be able to actually rest!

Sleepy baby smiles make it all better, right?

Here's a fun fact: our two sons were born on the same day just 2 years apart! Actually they were born 32 min short of exactly 2 years apart. How's that for weird? (No, we did not plan it that way, how could you ever plan it that way!?)

Dainen's Birthday Fun!

Dainen is (almost) 2!!! Can you believe it?! It's kinda mind blowing. He's such an amazing (not so) little guy =). Dainen's birthday isn't actually until the end of the month, but his little brother is due at the end of the month too. So rather than celebrate when I'm even bigger pregnant or with a newborn we moved his birthday up a few weeks. We had burgers and cake and icecream over at my parent's house. We had Quinn's family and my family come (just the ones in the area). It was great!

He's getting so big!

Playing with his "Mr. Potato head" glasses

Checking out his new toys

Unwrapping his kiddie pool! He really really wanted to play with it right then, he loves water.

Playing with his new truck at the party

I love our little (soon to be Bigger) family!

Getting ready to cut the cakes. I'm pretty proud of how they turned out, they were yummy too! Dainen loved blowing out the candles and lit up when we sang to him!

Dainen approved of the cake (as evidenced by his frosting facial)
It was so great to come together and celebrate such a delightful little guy. He truly has been a joy the past two years!

Happy Birthday sweet boy!
