When I had my son I was told lots of things: "Motherhood is wonderful", "Newborns don't sleep through the night", "Being a parent is hard but worth it", "The first 6 weeks are the hardest" etc, etc, etc.
All true.
What they failed to mention is this: You will never accomplish any one thing without interuption.... ever again....
Case in point: I sat down to do a sewing project. I haven't even gotten the sewing machine out and the following has happened:
I changed a particularly rancid poopy diaper.
I got Dainen a snack.
I read him 2 books 4 times each (he brought them to me).
I pulled standing Dainen off of 2 different chairs at least 5 times each.
I had to stop Dainen from pulling my project off the table too many times to count (he's tall).
By this time it's lunch time. So I push my project to the side and get lunch ready.
I get to eat most of my lunch, but then Dainen wants more lunch and then decides that my yogurt looks tasty so he eats the rest of it. sigh.
Looking around I see dishes that are 90% washed, clean clothes that are half put away and a floor that was tidied but then Dainen got to it...
I'm about to attempt the project again... wish me luck!!!
