The latest project

I like projects. I almost always have one going and I feel a little lost without them. While on our road trip the baby boys played with a wooden garden at the Church History Museum (see previous post). The boys liked it and I loved the idea! So I decided to make something like that, I like it even better than the one at the museum. It took some figuring, tracing, sawing, sanding, glueing and painting and here's the result!

Just a little crazy

 

Quinn had a few days over a week off for Spring Break and I was determined not to waste it.

We haven't been on vacation since our Honeymoon and

 I've been going a bit nuts with the daily routine at home.

 

So I suggested we take a roadtrip to visit my brother and his wife and son in Utah....

 

a nearly 2,000 mile trip with a nine month old...

 

Sounds crazy right?!

 Truth be told, I had second, third and seventy-fifth thoughts about it.

 

However, I have a very flexible and supportive husband, so we did it!

We were able to visit several other people as well.

 

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!

 

I took over 400 pictures in the week we were gone,

here are just a few to sumarize the trip.

 

 

It was a long drive! Thankfully Dainen slept most of the way, he's a sweetie!

 

With only 3 people on the trip, Dainen had to help drive too.
(Just kidding!)

Dainen and his cousin Gabe had lots of fun playing together. Gabe had lots of fun gouging Dainen's eye and Dainen kicked him in the face a few times. Mostly they had fun, ya know, snatching each other's toys etc. Cute kids! Gabe is 2 months younger.

My cousin Becca was able to come visit for several hours, it was so great seeing her again!

We went to Temple Square one day. My brother had to work, but the rest of us went.

 Aparently the drive over was boring...

 After they woke up, the boys had fun playing at the church history museum.

 

 

We got to go out to lunch with Quinn's Mission President and Mission Mom. They were so friendly and fun, it was truly a delight. You may recognize his Mission Mom,

she's Sister Burton, the General Relief Society President now.

I'm so grateful that Quinn had such amazing people watching over him on his mission in Korea!

 

We had such fun with Bjorn (My brother) and Coleen.

We dyed Easter eggs, went out to icecream and made Easter cookies and went swimming.

We visited and played games and just had a great time.

Dainen's first experience with a pool, he LOVED it! Just like a big bath tub =)

 We stopped at Quinn's 92 year-old grandma's house for a quick visit on the way back from Utah.

 She was very nice and it was cool hearing some of her stories.



 

We stayed a night at Quinn's Aunt Barbara's house on the way to Utah. We stayed the night, all day and another night on the way back. Who knew I'd have so much in common with my mother-in-law's older sister? It was a delight getting to know her. I agree with her completely:

"It's too bad you don't live closer, we could go shopping!"

We're both big on garage sales, thrift stores, bargains etc. She was fun.

Dainen was breaking two teeth during this trip! We noticed one popping through the first night of our trip. He was amazing though, he handled so well. However, on the last part of the drive back he was just DONE. So we gave him his food pacifier and he went to sleep sucking on it, after getting banana all over his face of course. He sucked on it every once in a while in his sleep. SO CUTE!

Home Sweet Home! It was an awesome trip and it's good to be back.
