Let me start by saying that thus far I’ve had a very easy
time of it. Of course saying I’m having an easy pregnancy is like saying I’m
having an easy time climbing Mt. Everest. Yes, my oxygen tank didn’t run out
and no, I didn’t break my leg, but I’m still climbing Mt. Everest! Ok maybe it’s
not all that bad… maybe.
I’m currently 26 weeks along so about 14 more to go.
A quick summary of
things so far:
Weeks 1-3: Life was normal.
Week 4: Found out I’m pregnant and told Quinn, he was ecstatic,
I had a hard time wrapping my head around it.
Weeks 5-13 or so: Slept almost constantly.
Week 14-16: Regained consciousness (mostly) and started
contemplating maternity clothes.
Week 18: Felt the baby move! Wore maternity clothes more and
more.
Week 19: Was convinced that the baby was a boy, or a girl,
or a boy…. or maybe a girl…either way the baby was obviously growing.
Week 20: Found out we’re having a BOY!
Weeks 21-26: Lots of baby prep, bought baby clothes and set
up the baby’s area. Realized that I can indeed get bigger, and that I am
getting bigger all the time.
I have a chart that says exactly how many newborn size
onsies, pants and sleepers I have. Not just newborn size though, every piece of
clothing I have gotten for him is charted. Also all the clothes are washed, categorized,
folded and placed in the appropriate bin.

As far as making baby things goes, I have painted a dresser,
updated my old bassinet, crocheted hats, booties, and sweaters. I have also
made quilts and receiving blankets and all within the last couple months.

Planning-wise I know exactly where I want everything in our
apartment to go, I know where all the toys, clothes, diapers and blankets will
go and a lot of the things are already in place.
Quinn is a very agreeable man, and it’s a good thing too.
This past week he started spring break and so he has all this spare time (he has
a ton of homework during school). So naturally we spent the first 2 days
getting baby related things done. These things included cleaning out our room
very thoroughly to make room for the baby dresser, bassinet and things. We also
cleaned and organized our storage unit to make room for bins of baby clothes.
Then we moved all the bins, the dresser, the bassinet, the blankets and
everything to where it goes. Then we got
a movie and pizza =).
